La Quinta Inn -
There are 40 rooms being held at La Quinta Inn and Suites (located on 4900 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28217). Check-in day November 4th, 2009 and check-out date November 8th, 2009. These rooms are first come, first serve. In order to reserve one of these rooms, you must call the front desk at (704) 523-5599, and ask for one of the rooms being held for the Vietnam Veteran's Reunion group. The rate for these rooms is $52/room/night.


We are happy to announce that Enterprise Rent-A-Car will be offering an additional discount on rental cars for the upcoming reunion in Charlotte.  There is a location across the street from the Embassy Suites and La Quinta Inn as well as a location onsite at the Charlotte Airport.  Below are the details on how to make a reservation and receive the additional discount!

Brave Cannon’s Reunion – November 4th-8th 2009, – Charlotte, NC

***Dress for all events is casual (including the dinner & dance). Comfortable shoes are encouraged for ALL events!***


Wednesday, November 4th, 2009:
  • Arrival in Charlotte, NC – check in to hotels
  • Registration and Welcoming at LaQuinta in Hospitality Room
  • The rest of the day/evening is open for free-time to go out on your own and explore areas and the nightlife of Charlotte.  Please refer to the welcome bag you received for literature of things to do, places to see, etc.


Thursday, November 5th, 2009:

  1. Welcoming Breakfast at Tryon House Family Restaurant at 8:00am – Special breakfast meal at $3.75 per person, other breakfast options available on menu
  2. After breakfast - Tour of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Factory in Concord, NC
  3. After tour of KKD - Lunch at Punchy’s Diner – Price per person based on order
  4. After lunch - Tour at Lowe’s Motor Speedway  - Admission: $3/person and required to sign a release form
  5. Dinner at Old Hickory Smokehouse – Price per person based on order

Friday, November 6th, 2009:

  1. Breakfast at Tryon House Family Restaurant at 8:30am – 9:30am – Special breakfast meal at $3.75 per person, other breakfast options available on menu
  2. Tour of Aviation Museum – Admission: $4/person
  3. Tour of Billy Graham Library, lunch available there for purchase.  Please e-mail Savannah (savannah@enchantyourevent.com) if you would like a copy of the lunch menu. 
  4. Tour of Penske Race Shop (Compliments of Penske Truck Leasing)
  5. VIP Party at “Howl at the Moon” in the EpiCenter located in downtown Charlotte, compliments of Bill Smith.  Howl at the Moon is a dual piano bar that is lots of fun!  Be sure to catch up on some songs to see if you can stump the performers or to just enjoy some classics!  Free cover charge, free dinner (served from 5pm-7pm).  Everyone that wants to go needs to gather in the Main Lobby in LaQuinta at 4:30pm, we will all go to the train station located on Old Pineville Road to take the LYNX to downtown.  The fare to ride the Lynx is $3/adult for  a round trip or $1.50/senior (62 years or older) for a round trip.  The dinner will be a small BBQ buffet, but if someone chooses to have something else for dinner, there are many restaurants to go to in the EpiCenter.  If you chose to have dinner somewhere else, you will need to check in to “Howl at the Moon” before 8pm, and tell the door staff that Bill Smith is your host to get the free cover charge.  This will be a great dinner and night out, but is optional. 

 

 

Saturday, November 7th, 2009:

  • Be sure to eat breakfast at hotels
  • Veteran’s Day Parade in Downtown Charlotte – will be before 10am, but definite time is still TBD ****Gentlemen need to wear khaki or khaki colored pants, T-shirts, hats, and comfortable shoes.  Ladies and all other guests should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.****
  • Memorial Service after parade
  • We should be finished around 4:00pm, so there will be a couple of hours available to rest, change and refresh before the dinner and dance.
  • Dinner at the American Legion (Morris Field Post) at 7:00pm-8:00pm.  Dance to follow from 8:00pm-11:00pm.  There is a $30 cover charge per couple, a bar will be available for all non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. 

Sunday, November 8th, 2009:

  • Breakfast at hotels
  • Farewell, Safe travels!

Special Notes:

  • Reunion T-shirts for the men will be provided by Bill Smith’s company, First Logistics.  If other guests would like the T-shirts, we can arrange for additional orders to be made. 
  • Please let Savannah or Bill Smith know who is renting a car, and if they would be willing to share a ride to and from events – need to know ASAP (look at website for special arrangements made at Enterprise)
  • If you plan to attend the tour and lunch at the Billy Graham Library, please let Savannah know how many will be in your party.
